What causes headlights to turn yellow or cloudy?

Most people would see the issue as mainly a cosmetic one but the yellow cloudy headlight can be more dangerous than you think. The oxidization of the headlight causes the light to be diffused, meaning that the light your headlights would normally give you has been weakened. The less light you have, the less you see and the more likely you are to end up in an accident. Headlights become foggy or yellow for a number of reasons. The lens of your headlight is made from polycarbonate plastic, which 348sis strong but also quite porous. Usually, the manufacturer puts a protective film over the top of the lens but this eventually falls apart. The lens is affected by heat, UV, road damage, dirt, cleaning agents and water vapour.
